Vin, I had tried to reach Lucie through the Chornicle back in the Fall. My purpose was to let her kjnow how much adn how significant she had been in the creation of the Advocate newspapers (htrd, nh., amherst, valley, springfield etc.).You likely do not know that she allowed me to persuade her to launch a weekend (sat) supplement/pages of arts and other materials (as long as it cost nothing for talent etc) which enabled me to try out a few things which later became a nascent template when I created the Valley and Hartford Advocates. I enjoyed my time at the Chronicle from the old offices to the "new" as I was on the team that made the transition. I also knew your father as well; that was an untimely departure). You may not know but Faith Middleton and Bill Johnson were also part of that "class" at the Chronicle. I actually was hired by convincing the then editor Malcolm Stannard that I would work cheaper at first than current levels. I also turned down 35% higher wages elsewhere to be on the Chronicle. I enjoyed my time there and found your mom quite supportive. I wish you and yours the very best. ED Matys, creater and founding publisher, Hartford, Valley, Fairfield and New Haven Advocate newspapers.

Dear Prof Crosbie,

I saw this post tweeted out by Prof. Masiclat. So came over to read this. I hope I'm not being too intrusive. I just wanted to say sorry. She seemed to have lived a remarkable life. I can see you've understood that for someone like her, death is but a formality.

My condolences to you and your family.

P.S. - Was your student in the Media Management class of 2011.

Great article, Vin. It's fascinating to see the changes going on in the media these days. Your insights help make it a lot more understandable.
Wishing you continued success.

Like a present that's partially but not yet identifiable unwrapped, a woman with A- or B-cup breasts who keeps an extra button or two open atop her blouse is far more tantilizing to men than a woman her displays C- or D-cup cleavage.

speak for yourself! They gotta be at least a D for me.

Great blog, Vin. Good for you. I've often wondered if guys would change their take on sex if they were considered sex objects by women. I don't have an answer yet.
